Hello
I’m Malorie Greene McHugh, a child, adolescent, young adult, and family therapist dedicated to helping individuals and families feel connected, confident, and emotionally secure. I specialize in working with families navigating big emotions, anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, identity development, and relational stress.

My work is grounded in attachment theory, experiential therapy, and nervous system–informed care. I integrate approaches such as Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Brainspotting, DBT, Play Therapy, and Strengths-Based Family Systems work to support meaningful and lasting change. I believe that when caregivers feel supported and empowered, children thrive.

In my practice, you’ll find a balance of warmth, play, and structure. Sessions are collaborative, creative, and practical. Whether we’re building emotional regulation skills, processing difficult experiences, or strengthening family connection, my goal is always to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and growth-oriented.

My Story
Every therapist has a story, mine began with a deep curiosity about relationships and resilience. I’ve always been drawn to the ways families shape us, support us, and sometimes struggle alongside us. Over the years, that curiosity became a calling.
Throughout my clinical work in community mental health, juvenile justice settings, and private practice, I’ve witnessed something powerful: change doesn’t happen through advice alone, it happens through connection. When children feel emotionally safe and parents feel confident and supported, healing unfolds naturally.

I’m especially passionate about supporting caregivers. Parenting is hard, especially when your child is struggling emotionally and behaviorally. That’s why I’ve pursued advanced training in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), which guides much of my parenting and family work. I believe parents are not the problem, they are the solution, and with the right support, they can become powerful agents of change in their child’s life.

Outside of the therapy room, I value creativity, nature, and community. I believe healing can be both deep and practical, structured yet compassionate. My approach blends clinical integrity with heart-centered work, helping families not only manage symptoms but strengthen relationships for the long term.

If you’re looking for therapy that is relational, experiential, and grounded in both science and compassion, you’re in the right place.
